FIELD: mechanical engineering, applicable for reduction of toxicity of exhaust gases, for instance, of internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: device has a body with ports for inlet of exhaust gases before cleaning and their outlet after cleaning, and a catalytic component installed in the body. The body accommodates a member for whirling the flow of exhaust gases. The catalytic component and the member for whirling the flow of exhaust gases may be made of nickel or nickel-containing material in the form of spirals; the member for whirling the flow of exhaust gases is positioned inside the catalytic component. The catalytic component may be made of material containing chromium, nickel, titanium. The body may be installed in an enclosure, having inlet and outlet pipe connections; the cavities of the body and enclosure are interconnected through ports made in the body.
