FIELD: electronic power generating devices. SUBSTANCE: method involves shaping of electron beam 35 by heating cathode 2 and directing it to substrate 15 made of plasma-forming material. Electron beam is passed through screen made in the form of two truncated cones 12, 13 mating at smaller bases. Plasma current 37 produced in the process is concentrated in cone 13 and swirled. Potential difference is built up between surface of cone 13 and that of collector 14 due to mass separation of electrons and ions. Standing wave is shaped in space of cone 12 which prevents scattering of plasmoid 34. Device has cathode 2, anode 4, and cathode heating system. Cathode 2 and anode 4 are placed in case 1 which is installed in shell 18. Case 1 mounts beam guide in the form of conical nozzle 8. Beam guide is connected to screen through chamber 10 with holes 11. Substrate 15 made of plasma-forming material is placed in bottom part of shell 18. Cone 13 accommodates collector 14 inside it. EFFECT: enlarged functional capabilities. 10 cl, 1 dwg, 2 tbl
