FIELD: neurosurgery; may be used in treatment of vertebrobasilar insufficiency stemming from squeezing and stenosis of vertebral artery in canal of vertebral artery. SUBSTANCE: front side of bone part of vertebral artery canal is cut with preliminary separation of artery and vein from it. Cutting is performed by tool in the form of bone forceps of pistol type with straight branches. The latter are provided with two cutting obliquely oriented sectors, one of which is fixed, while the other, is movable. Flexible rectangular protective rasparatory is located at base of fixed branch. EFFECT: reduced operative injury and probability of venous and artery hemorrhage. 3 dwg
