FIELD: technology of production of chemical substances, more specifically, methods of producing calcium dithionite. SUBSTANCE: process is conducted by electrolysis in two-compartment diaphragm cell whose anode space is filled with 20% solution of calcium chloride and cathode space is filled with distilled water. To fully agitate the solution and to increase yield of the product, sulfur dioxide is supplied from below upward. Then, current density of 800-1000 A/sq.m and voltage of 15 V are applied at temperature of 18-20 C for 1 h. EFFECT: economically efficient and accessible method due to utilization of large tonnage wastes of soda industry. 1 dwg, 1 tbl
