FIELD: transport engineering; automobile electric equipment. SUBSTANCE: proposed device, like other known ones, has standard wiper circuit and additionally automatic glass cleaning system with windshield glass contamination pickup connected in parallel. This system responds to glass contamination rate. Owing to use of phase detection, operations caused by gradual change of glass contamination level when there is no necessity of glass cleaning are prevented. This precludes unexpected operation of system in running and arresting of attention of driver. Glass cleaning system responsive to glass contamination rate ensure against emergency situations on the road when glass in suddenly splashed with mud thrown by wheels of foregoing vehicle.
