FIELD: materials handling systems; conveyor transportation of loads between processing points. SUBSTANCE: belt conveyor has initial point load pickup and destination point load pickup. To provided tracking of data, load data at initial point are recorded and are loaded into programmable controller which controls operation of conveyor. Then pulse signal is generated. Number of pulses of pulse signal is directly proportional to belt conveyor run. Wait window is formed indicating expected arrival of load at point of destination. Distance field is set for load using minimum distance between said load and any other preceding on load conveyor, or distance between load and load pickup at point of destination. Front edge of load read off by load pickup at point of destination, and distance between load pickup at initial point and pickup at point of destination is compared to reveal slipping of load on conveyor belt. Then load data records in controller are renewed basing on revealed load slipping to provide coincidence of load data records with actual position of load on conveyor in point of destination. EFFECT: improved tracking of load on belt conveyor by provided synchronization of data concerning the load with location of load at its transportation and taking into account load slipping and revealing wedging of load on conveyor. 20 cl, 6 dwg
