METHOD OF MANUFACTURING PRODUCTS FROM PAPIER-MACHE Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: pulp-and- paper industry. SUBSTANCE: paper material is wound around workholder corresponding to form of product. Material is coated layer-by-layer with adhesive agent. Resulting stock is dried, cut into parts, and the latter are removed from workholder to be used for assembling product, surface of which undergoes treatment. According to invention, stock, prior to be dried, is pressed in direction of workholder axis at pressure 55-65 atm for 5-10 min. Drying is carried out at room temperature until 8-10% moisture content is reached. Stock is then impregnated with mixture of kerosene and vegetable oil in ratio 1:(3- 3.5) at 65-70 C for 2.5-3 h. As adhesive agent, homopolymer polyvinylacetate dispersion is used. Stock is cut into parts corresponding to product dimensions.
