FIELD: oil and gas production industry. SUBSTANCE: elevator is used in overhaul repair of wells. Elevator has body, gripping unit which is made up of jaws and rod connected together by hinge. Also provided is handle with control lever. Handle is installed stationary on body boss. Fixing member that is pin interacts with holes made in rod and boss. Fixing member or pin is seated in hole located at base of body boss. Slot is made in boss between holes and handle. Installed on axle in slot is spring-biased lever that is rocker with shoulder. This lever by its both arms interacts with control lever. One arm of lever located in slot is connected with fixing member or pin. Handle is straight. For opening of elevator, operator presses on control lever thus making it interact with arms of lever installed in boss slot. In result, fixing pin connected with lever disengages from hole in rod of gripping unit. Then, operator moves elevator away from pipe by applying effort to handle. Closing of elevator is performed in reverse succession when operator applies hand effort to elevator handle. In this case, fixing pin slides along rod surface until it matches its hole. After that, fixing pin enters rod hole and locks entire device. In closed position of elevator, end of control lever comes into boss slot and is held above shoulder of rocker lever. Aforesaid embodiment of elevator is easy in operation. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 6 dwg
