ELEVATOR FOR PUMP-COMPRESSOR PIPES Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: oil and gas production industry. SUBSTANCE: elevator is used in overhaul repair of wells. Elevator has body with rest and shackle, and handle with control lever. Located in body is gripping unit with jaws. Gripping unit incorporates removable insert which is made up of stem with two shoulders arranged on stem over its height. These two shoulders interact with jaws of gripping unit and with lower end face of elevator body. Made along axis of stem is cutout which is connected with shackle mounted on end of stem. Due to aforesaid embodiment of elevator there is no need to dismantle pipe elevator from casing block for connection to it of erection ropes or rod elevator. Aforesaid pipe elevator is of wide functional potentialities because besides its application for direct purpose that is gripping and lifting of pump-compressor pipes it can be used for lifting other types of equipment in process of repairs at well head, namely for mounting and dismantling operations, for attaching rod elevator to casing block in process of round-trip operations with rods.
