FIELD: domestic appliances. SUBSTANCE: self-contained kettle has gas burner placed in casing, bowl holding liquid to be heated which is mounted above burner, draft ducts running from above-burner space through bowl to space beyond casing surface, and automatic shut-off valve that functions to close gas supply line and is functionally coupled with sensors closing mentioned valve in absence of burner flame or liquid in bowl, or in case of too high temperature of liquid. According to second version, kettle may also have electric storage battery, ion sensor projecting into gas-burner flame region, spark ignition facility connected to storage battery and to ion sensor for re-igniting burner flame in case it has gone out, and automatic shut-off valve for closing gas supply line functionally coupled with sensor.
