AMPHIBIOUS CRAWLER CARRIER Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: transport engineering; crossing equipment; amphibious vehicles. SUBSTANCE: carrier has watertight body with cabin, cargo compartment and hinged tailgate, engine unit and propulsion unit-steering set, all arranged in watertight body, and running gear. carrier is provided with rigid pontoons secured in working position on sides from outer side of cargo compartment. Deck of each pontoon is arranged at level of carrier waterline, and in travelling position pontoons are placed in cargo compartment along sides. Carrier is furnished with device for setting mounted rigid pontoons in travelling position and in working position. Pontoon setting device is made in form of detachable crane jib installed with its cylindrical tailpiece vertically into cup built cargo compartment deck. EFFECT: increased load capacity of carrier in water by 25-30%, enhanced stability, enlarged operating capabilities. 9 dwg
