FIELD: rubber processing industry, more particularly surface modification of rubbers based on carbochain natural rubbers for manufacture of sealing friction units. SUBSTANCE: rubbers are treated with solution of reactive agents in organic solvent and are subsequently treated at vulcanization temperature for 40-60 minutes. Reactive agents include 2-mercaptobenzthiazole and sulfur in combination with liquid crystal alloy addition agent at concentration of 4-5, 1-2 and 2-3 wt parts, respectively, and rubber is treated for 5-7 hours. EFFECT: more efficient surface modification method. 2 ex, 2 tbl
