FIELD: motor fuels. SUBSTANCE: oil stock is subjected to hydrogenation processing in three reaction zones in presence of catalysts at elevated temperature and pressure. Catalyst in the first reaction zone contains 1.5-3.0 wt % cobalt or nickel oxide, 4.0-8.0 wt % molybdenum oxide, and alumina to 100%. In the second reaction zone, catalyst contains, wt %: nickel oxide 2.5-4.2, molybdenum oxide 9.0-15.0, phosphorus oxide 0.5-1.5, ultrastable zeolite NH4Y 5.0-16.0, and alumina, the balance. In the third reaction zone, catalyst contains, wt %: nickel oxide 2.5-4.2, molybdenum oxide 9.0-15.0, phosphorus oxide 0.5-1.5, ultrastable zeolite NH4Y 17.0-30.0, and alumina, the balance.
