RAILWAY TRACK SPIKE Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: railway track construction. SUBSTANCE: rail spike has oval head and stem of square cross-section. Cross-section of stem part where it crosses through rail chair and within its thickness is of special configuration. Two opposite sides of configured part are equal in value to side of square cross-section of main part of stem. Two other sides of configured part of stem which are oriented perpendicularly to track axis are of size which is somewhat larger than of corresponding sides of hole in rail chair. Aforesaid embodiment of rail spike resists spontaneous pulling-out of spikes in operation of rail track. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 3 dwg
