FIELD: wood materials processing to produce saw-timber (beams, boards) using portable and mountable devices which are easy to deliver to customer's locations (tree felling or dacha construction places). SUBSTANCE: sawing mechanism has device for setting saw-timber height. Carriage housing is designed as rod, which at least one end is mounted in guide by means of running gear in order to achieve constant angle between longitudinal axes of rod and running gear. Sawing mechanism with rod, and rod with running gear are mountable and provide rotation of sawing mechanism about axle which is parallel to rod and provide controlled given movement of sawing mechanism with respect to rod. Portable motor saw has guiding board with sawing chain, control handles, vibration insulation members and device for setting height of saw-timber. Mountable housing of device is located on guiding board and/or other providing controlled space between its base surface and guiding plane of board. Size of space is equal to height of saw timber.
