FIELD: sealing technology; valve, flange, nipple and other joints. SUBSTANCE: sealing joint includes shut-off member fitted for engagement with thin-walled envelope which is subjected to elastic deformation during contact. Surface of thin-walled envelope which is not engageable with shut-off member is provided with groove on side of its end forming section of wall working both in elastic deformation zone and in plasto-elastic deformation zone when engageable with shut-off member. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of sealing in case of change in operating conditions. 3 dwg
