FIELD: mechanical engineering; valves. SUBSTANCE: proposed invention relates to devices designed for cutting off medium flow in pipeline. Wedge valve has flexible shutoff made of convex-concave disks. Disks are coupled with drive and are in contact with gate valve housing when gate valve is closed. Disks are connected to drive through rigid wedge. Sealing surface of each disk in contact with housing is torus-shaped. EFFECT: provision of optimum conditions for forming sealed contact, enhanced reliability of operation in presence of abrasive particles (deposits). 4 cl, 8 dwg
