METHOD TESTING STEERING WHEEL PLAY OF MOTOR VEHICLE AND DEVICE FOR ITS REALIZATION Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: diagnostics of steering of motor vehicle by value of play. SUBSTANCE: method testing steering wheel play of motor vehicle consists in turn of steering wheel through angle bigger than play, in formation of characteristic of play as dependence of movement of steered wheel on angle of turn of steering wheel. After this play is evaluated as summary angle of turn of steering wheel between specified linear zones of characteristic. Device for realization of method includes transmitter 1 of angle of turn of steering wheel, threshold unit 2, unit 3 computing play across which output play indicator 4 is mounted. Device is also fitted with transmitter 5 of angle of turn of wheel, matching amplifiers 6, 7, unit 8 of registers, unit 9 indicating direction of turn of wheel and threshold unit 2 is manufactured in the form of comparator 10 to which input master unit 11 of level is connected. Matching amplifiers 6, 7 are placed correspondingly across outputs of transmitter 1 of turn of steering wheel and transmitter 5 of angle of turn of wheel.
