FIELD: oxidation catalysts. SUBSTANCE: method of preparing catalyst for removing carbon monoxide from respiration-destined gas mixtures consists in mixing manganese dioxide and cupric oxide with bentonite clay binder (components of exhausted carbon monoxide oxidation catalyst) in aqueous medium containing 5-15 wt % of sulfuric acid and 0.5-2.0 wt % of potassium permanganate, followed by granulation, drying, crushing, and heat treatment. EFFECT: considerably reduced expenses on starting constituents of catalyst. 1 tbl
