FIELD: ceramics. SUBSTANCE: electrostrictive ceramics contains lead, magnesium, niobium, titanium, and lanthanum oxides and is prepared according to conventional ceramics technology: synthesis and sintering temperatures 800-850 and 1240-1260 C, respectively. Relative deformation of material at room temperature in electric field 10 kv/cm is (1.00-1.25) x 10-3 with electromechanical hysteresis ca.5%. EFFECT: increased electrostrictive deformation and reduced dielectric permittivity with low electromechanical hysteresis retained.
