FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: content of solid reducing agent in slag bath is monitored by change of electrical difference of potentials between electrode-current collector electrically insulated from ground and submerged to under layer of liquid slag, and ground proper. Increasing of quantity of solid reducing agent in slag bath leads to rising of electric signal level. In addition, electrical difference of potentials is measured simultaneously with measurement of resistance in electrode-current collector - slag bath - ground - electrode- current collector that results in the final analysis in increased accuracy of measured signal. EFFECT: provision of determination and control of contact of solid reducing agent in slag; rapidity and continuity of action and increased accuracy. 2 cl, 1 dwg
