FIELD: oil and gas production industry. SUBSTANCE: this gate valve is used for distant initiation of preserved or abandoned oil, gas, or hydrogeological wells and bore-holes for use as storages for aforesaid media. Secured on top flange of bore-hole is shutter. Cover is located below shutter with creation of space between shutter and cover. Arranged in thus formed space is bore-hole initiating device which is made in the form of source of high-pressure gases and flexible member. One end of flexible member is connected to shutter, and other end is connected to cover. Flexible member can be connected to shutter through damper which is installed in space between shutter and cover. Installed on shutter is vessel with weight. Control signal for actuation of high-pressure gas source is sent remotely by radio or wire communication line. Shutter rises above ground surface. Gas pressure is released. Sagging of flexible member is eliminated and cover is pulled by shutter to follow it. Now well is opened. Application of aforesaid embodiment of well-head gate valve prevents occurrence of emergencies because remote opening of well excludes injury to people by gas or liquid discharging from well.
