FIELD: mining industry, mainly, underground mining of coal deposits by coal mining complexes and unit with execution of monitoring and control of advance of complex or unit over hypsometry and in plane of seam. SUBSTANCE: method includes determination of absolute coordinates of all points of complex or unit framework in horizontal plane and measurement of absolute vertical coordinates with the help of determination of hydrostatic pressure in immovable liquid in hollow of hydrostatic tubular pickup; measurement of position of complex framework sections with respect to coal-rock boundary at least in one point along the length of longwall face and in extreme sections of framework in points of seam extension to contours of adjacent drifts; calculation of seam surface levelling in absolute coordinates by algebraic summation of absolute coordinates of complex framework and measurements of seam position with respect to framework in points of the given and previous cycles of face advance; mathematical extrapolation of seam surface extension in zone of operation of floor cutters of actuating member of continuous miner or plough; determination of difference of vertical coordinates of seam and complex framework with that of floor cutters; giving information or command for reducing this difference to zero or to preset value of left coal band. For remote or automatic control of mechanisms in the device for embodiment of the method, the device has transducer with rigid and flexible pipes. Flexible pipe accommodates two longitudinal strain-gage transducers for measurement of configuration of complex framework in horizontal plane and two strain-gage transducers for measurement of hydrostatic pressure in plane square to pipe axis.
