FIELD: instruments, in particular, for manufacturing of electric coils. SUBSTANCE: device has magnetic circuit, which is designed as rod which carries three windings, two of which are connected in opposite and are loaded by balancing potentiometer, which difference signal is amplified by amplifier. Electromotive force in said windings, which are located on opposite ends of rod is induced by alternating field which is generated by third winding which is mounted between tow first windings. Third winding is connected to output of generator of sine-shaped signals. If coil with short-circuited turns is located on rod, this violates existing balance and amplifier outputs signal, which is received by detector and then by indicator for detection of short circuits in coil.
