FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: method comprises catalytically hydrogenating tetrafluoroethylene at elevated temperature using alumopalladium catalyst. Metallic palladium is applied onto alpha-aluminium oxide in amount of 2 wt %. Optimum hydrogenation is conducted at 100-110 C at contact compound height to diameter ratio under isothermal conditions at tetrafluoroethylene amount of 0.11-1.45 l/h per 1 g of catalyst. Method makes it possible to increase conversion of tetrafluoroethylene to 99.9% and yield of desired product to 99.9%. EFFECT: more efficient preparation method. 5 cl, 10 ex, 1 tbl
