FIELD: automotive industry. SUBSTANCE: to increase passive safety at head-on collision, cylinder head is disconnected from cylinder block and cylinder block with clutch housing and gearbox moves downwards under automobile bottom, and head turns and moves upwards through hood aperture. In one of designs, cylinder head and cylinder block are connected by several angle plates secured on cylinder block for rotation around horizontal axis. Cross slots made in horizontal web of angle plates reach plate end, and bodies of screws or plugs turned into strips under horizontal webs of angle plate, get into slots and pass through hole in head. Angle plates are coupled with rod installed before engine along longitudinal axis of automobile by means of lever, wedge of other mechanism to provide turning of angle plates when rod is moved backwards and releasing the strip. EFFECT: enhanced safety of automobile. 3 cl, 4 dwg
