FIELD: automatic industry; passive safety of passenger cars.
SUBSTANCE: in case of road accident, when passenger car collides with truck of bus, shock is applied to place located higher than passenger car sidemembers owing to different height of bumpers (and antiroll beams) of vehicles and bumpers do not absorb the shock. As a result, deformation of car front part occurs not in the way as was planned by designers, and passive safety of car is considerably reduced. According to invention, car is furnished with car-to-obstacle distance sensor with is capable of recognizing high objects, such as truck and buses. In case of danger of collision with such object, front part of car body is lifted by pneumatic cylinders installed between strut of front suspension and body of car. Pneumatic cylinders are filled with gas at operation of explosive cartridge.
EFFECT: improved passive safety of passenger car.
