FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, particularly, blast-furnace processes; applicable in blowing-down of blast-furnaces with subsequent raking out. SUBSTANCE: method includes charging of last portions of iron ore and carbon-containing materials into blast furnace, stopping blast-furnace charging, control and varying of parameters of blowing and top gas, supply of cooler, lowering of charge level up to end of blowing-down. In so doing, charged into furnace are portions of burden from iron-ore materials and carbon-containing material in volume equalling 0.02-0.25 of furnace volume, and before stopping the charging, supplied to furnace is carbon-containing material in volume equalling 0.02-0.10 of furnace volume with use of fractions sizing 5-25 mm. EFFECT: higher reliability of blowing-down process due to prevention of premature spilling of cooler into hot horizons of furnace and explosions.
