FIELD: chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to catalytic oxidation of hydrocarbons, in part, to a method of synthesis of a mixture of carbon MONOXIDE and hydrogen. The hydrocarbon-containing initial mixture, oxygen-containing gas, nitrogen and sulfur-containing compound are contacted with catalyst which is able to catalyze the partial oxidation of hydrocarbon raw. Catalyst has a metal as a catalytically active component taken from the group consisting of ruthenium, rhodium, palladium, osmium, iridium and platinum being the initial mixture is contacted with catalyst at an average-hour rate of gas feeding from 20 000 to 100 000 000 nl/kg/h. Carbon MONOXIDE and hydrogen are obtained from hydrocarbon raw where hydrocarbon raw is subjected for catalytic partial oxidation process at the first stage and at least part of the synthesized product from the first stage is subjected for desulfonation at the second stage. Catalytic partial oxidation is carried out by the method described above.
