FIELD: acceleration engineering; irradiation of polymeric films for producing nuclear filters (track membranes). SUBSTANCE: device has deflecting plates, step-up transformer, and deflecting-voltage generator; transformer secondary winding is connected to deflecting plates and its primary winding, to deflecting-voltage generator output. Novelty is that low-frequency sine-wave voltage generator is used as deflecting-voltage generator and that newly introduced in device is control pulse shaper whose input is connected to mentioned generator output and its outputs, to ion source and to cyclotron high-frequency generator. Linear portion of low-frequency sine-wave voltage is used for beam deflection; to eliminate loss of beam, cyclotron ions are accelerated only during effective period of linear portion of sine- wave voltage applied to deflecting yoke plates.
