FIELD: medicine, in particular, ophthalmology. SUBSTANCE: place of supposed position of foreign ferromagnetic body is separated and cut. Then operating end of ferroprobe transducer is introduced into it and moved till maximum value of signal is obtained on pointer indicator of instrument. After change-over from the first sensitive half-elements of ferroprobe to the second one, operating end of transducer is moved forward to depth equal to space between first and second half-elements. Value of signal registered by pointer indicator is compared with value of signal obtained from first half-element. If second signal value is less than value of signal obtained from first half-element conclusion is drawn about position of foreign ferromagnetic body from the side of transducer where half-element sensitivity is reduced on level of core axis of second sensitive half-element. If values of signals are equal, foreign ferromagnetic body is located from opposite side of transducer on the same level. method ensures simplified procedure of ferroprobe diagnostics. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of localization. 1 cl, 1 dwg
