FIELD: petrochemical industry, refrigerating technique, namely equipment having rotary shaft with bearing assembly lubricated by pressurized working liquid. SUBSTANCE: bearing unit includes housing with union for supplying working liquid and bearing device arranged in housing. Bearing device includes main radial sliding bearing with segmented self-adjusting cushion-inserts and two additional bearings, each having outer and inner members. Inner member of additional bearing may be axially moved relative to its outer member and shaft by action of leaf springs. Inner members of additional bearings have lengthwise section with cone protrusion along the whole perimeter on inner end surface of small-diameter portion. Increased thickness of protrusion near its base is equal to value of wedge gap of main bearing. Said protrusion allows to eliminate completely contact of supporting surface of cushion-inserts of main bearing at time periods of starting, arresting and idling of equipment. EFFECT: vibration-free operation, increased range of shaft revolution number, significantly lowered possibility of binding supporting surfaces, decreased axial size of bearing unit. 1 dwg
