FIELD: permanent and releasable connection of optical fibers. SUBSTANCE: lug having cylindrical case with bevel end and central hole for light guide is manufactured. Lug has sloping butt of spherical shape in general case bordering on beveled surface. Vertex of spherical butt is centered relative to hole in lug within limits of 10-50 mkm. Makeshift sloping butt of lug bordering on bevel is formed with subsequent repeat polishing to make spherical surface with centered vertex. EFFECT: reduced losses for reflection with provision of high stability of centering of fibers. 20 cl, 9 dwg
