FIELD: handling alkali metals in traditional and nuclear power engineering, chemistry, electrical engineering, metallurgy, and other industries. SUBSTANCE: arrangement has insulator, heater, and cover. Novelty is that insulator has at least two layers; its inner layer is made of material that enters in chemical reaction with alkali metals to form solid inert products of reaction which makes it possible to avoid emergency situation. Insulator outer layer is made of heat insulating material. Equipment cover material includes silicon oxide, alumina, and ferric oxide with mass proportion of parts being 3-5:0.5-2:3-6, respectively. Heat insulating material has fibrous component of basalt and binder the latter containing silicone varnish and triethanolamine in its composition. Manufacturing process for heat insulating material involves preparation of water mass of mineral fiber and binder, drying, molding, and cooling down. Weighted portion of basalt fiber is fluffed out, dispersed in binder water slurry, dewatered, and dried out at 80 - 100 C for 20-40 min. EFFECT: enlarged functional capabilities. 13 cl, 2 dwg
