FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of heat-insulation articles which contain ceramic fibre and are designed for use in construction and industrial lining of thermal generating units. The method involves preparation of a suspension from ceramic fibre with an organic high-molecular binder from the family of dextrins: pale acidic corn starch or cold swelling potato starch. The article is moulded through infiltration of the suspension through a water-permeable substrate. The fibre workpiece is dehydrated by filtering air at 25-100°C and the surface layers of the fibre workpiece undergo engobe coating until formation cladding of given thickness on the surface of the article by spraying a suspension of hydraulically solid aluminous material Alphabond 300 with modifying additives in form of colloidal hydrates of silicon, aluminium and zirconium oxides. Thermal treatment takes place at temperature for formation of a stone-like state of the material of the cladding - 150-300°C.

EFFECT: improved operational characteristics of articles made from environmentally safe materials.
