FIELD: radio engineering; communication networks. SUBSTANCE: bypass has first and second terminal units, first and second electronic switches, first and second regenerators, automatic detectors, AND and OR gates. Device is connected in series with four-wire line to ensure automatic bypass of assembly B in case of its failure. When it fails, signals are transmitted from assembly A to assembly C bypassing assembly B due to disconnection of the latter by means of first and second switches and connection of first and second regenerators in forward and reverse directions, respectively. EFFECT: provision for bypassing and disabling faulty intermediate assembly in bidirectional four-wire digital communication network. 4 dwg
