FIELD: chemical industry, more particularly separation of iron-containing stock into fractions. SUBSTANCE: unlike usual method of preparing iron- containing concentrate from iron ores, claimed method comprises using, as iron-containing stock, mixture consisting of iron ores and non-magnetic fraction of steel melting slag having grain size of not greater than 10 mm at 10-3:1 ratio, respectively. Grinding in closed cycle with classification and wet magnetic separation are carried out in one stage to prepare iron concentrate from non-magnetic fraction of steel melting slag having grain size of not greater than 10 mm.
