SUBSTANCE: method includes supply of metal to tundish from teeming ladles successively supplied to continuous casting unit; supply of slag mixture to tundish; supply of metal to molds; pulling of ingots from them; change of tundishes after casting into them of several heats. In so doing, change of successive teeming ladle is accomplished by discrete reduction of consumption of slag mixture by formula Q_i = K.M.Q₁.Δt.i, where Q_i is value of reduced specific consumption of slag mixture in tundish in change of successive teeming ladle, kg/t; M is weight of metal in tundish, t; Q₁ is specific consumption of slag mixture after filling with metal of successive tundish, kg/t; Δt is value of temperature of cast metal in tundish exceeding value of liquidus temperature, C: i is ordinal number of successive teeming ladle discharged into one tundish equalling i=2 ... n; n is total number of teeming ladles discharged into one tundish, dimensionless; K is empirical coefficient taking into consideration heat and physico-chemical governing laws of heat losses from metal surface in tundish and assimilation of nonmetallic inclusions equalling (5-250).10^-6, 1/t.C.
