FIELD: production of inorganic compounds. SUBSTANCE: ferric sulfate is prepared by forming suspension containing ferrous sulfate and sulfuric acid, wherein ferrous iron is present in solution phase and solid phase, and oxidizing suspension to produce ferric sulfate. If necessary, ferric sulfate suspension thus obtained is solidified to form solid ferric salt. Resultant ferric sulfate as such or dissolved in water can be used to treat waste water in pure tap water production process. EFFECT: reduced power consumption and facilitated storage and transportation of target product. 16 cl, 2 ex
