SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in inorganic chemistry in the processing of ferrous heptahydrate in iron sulfate monohydrate. This method for processing ferrous heptahydrate involves the preparation of an aqueous solution or suspension of iron sulfate heptahydrate in a vessel (mixture I), moving mixture I into the first pressure vessel and heating mixture I to the temperature T1 with the setting of the pressure P1 and the formation of iron sulfate monohydrate as a solid and solution II. Wherein the temperature T1 is set above the boiling point of mixture I at atmospheric pressure. Further, the iron sulfate monohydrate is separated from solution II in the second pressure vessel at a temperature T2 that is at least equal to T1, and a pressure P2 that at least corresponds to P1 to form the isolated solid iron sulfate monohydrate consisting of iron sulfate monohydrate and a residual amount of solution II. Above separated ferrous sulfate monohydrate is fed to a third vessel at a pressure P3, which is set below the pressure P2. And the temperature of iron sulfate monohydrate fed to a third pressure vessel is set above the boiling point of solution II at the pressure P3. At the same time, the temperature of ferrous sulfate monohydrate is reduced to the temperature T3, which corresponds to the pressure P3.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to efficiently obtain iron sulfate monohydrate with the possibility of regulating the residual moisture content and iron (III) content in the product.
