FIELD: chemistry of polymers. SUBSTANCE: method comprises polymerization of at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer in the presence of free radical polymerization initiator in stabilizing amphiphilic system. Polymerization is carried out in the presence of stabilizing system comprising from 0.5 to 50 wt % of primary polymeric amphiphilic stabilizer based on common monomer reagents. Polymeric stabilizer is selected from group consisting of hydrophobically and hydrophilically balanced acid-soluble resin soluble in organic or inorganic acid, and primary polymeric amphiphilic stabilizer is continuously made soluble. Addition of monomer is regulated so as to cause growth of spherical particles to form stabilized large-size particles from emulsion. Also described is method of preparing said polymer intended for us as reinforcing additive for coatings, casting and sealing compositions.
