FIELD: medicine, histological techniques. SUBSTANCE: preliminarily, conditions of sectioning are set to obtain microscopic sections of preset thickness. Then histological unit is worked with relative rotary motion of histological unit and cutting edge of tool at speed of cutting, and feed motion of histological unit with respect to tool cutting edge not coinciding with direction of cutting. Microscopic sectioning is accomplished in two stages by unit of cutting tools with parallel arrangement of their cutting edges. Cutting tools unit consists of main (roughing) tool installed for displacement in radial direction relative to rotation of histological unit, and additional (finishing) tool. preliminarily, cutting edge of main (roughing) tool is installed above cutting edge of additional (finishing) tool. At the first stage histological unit is worked by main (roughing) tool up to appearance on section of examined material traces. Then main (roughing) tool is returned to initial position, and at the second stage, additional (finishing) tool is used. First, microscopic section is obtained to check for presence of examined material on section and then successive finishing sections are made. EFFECT: higher quality of microscopic sections and efficiency of sectioning, varied sectioning conditions within a wide range. 1 dwg
