FIELD: microwave cooking ovens. SUBSTANCE: fan driving device and microwave oven have speed varying assembly for improving cooking quality by periodic variation of pan rotation speed to ensure more uniform irradiation of food product by microwave energy. Speed varying facility has driving mechanism provided with plurality of drive gears and mounted on driving shaft as well as driven mechanism incorporating plurality of driven pinions corresponding to relevant drive gears of driving mechanism and mounted on driven shaft. Driving-mechanism gears and driven-mechanism pinions are, essentially, indexing wheels provided with teeth on respective parts of external periphery of these gears and pinions; teeth of indexing gears and pinions are alternately disposed one above other. In the course of rotary motion of driving shaft indexing gears and respective indexing pinions alternately come in mesh thereby varying pan speed.
