FIELD: ophthalmology. SUBSTANCE: method includes ultrasonic scanning by meridian acoustic sections with interval from 0.2 to 0.5 deg; forming three-dimensional data file from obtained sections in computer on-line memory; analysis of successive series of mutually perpendicular acoustic sections of this file; detection of sections with foreign bodies and measurement of distance between them and eye sclera and retina in millimeters. EFFECT: higher prognostic potentialities of method with respect to expediency of surgical intervention and tactics of subsequent treatment. 3 dwg
