FIELD: metallurgy, in particular, production of cast iron in blast furnace. SUBSTANCE: method involves charging solid fuel, iron ore material and ferrite-calcic flux into blast furnace, with CaO/Fe2O3 ratio in ferrite-calcic flux ranging between 0.15 and 0.55, Si O2 content ranging between 1 and 7% and Fe content exceeding 50%; mixing iron ore material and ferrite-calcic flux prior to charging into blast furnace. Preliminary mixing of mentioned components improves component distribution across blast furnace mouth section and increases chemical homogeneity of iron material mixture and decreases average value of MgO/CaO ratio in charge of material. As a result, primary blast furnace slag formation process is stabilized. EFFECT: increased efficiency by improved parameters of blast furnace formation process. 1 tbl, 1 ex
