FIELD: metallurgy; applicable in smelting of pig iron in blast furnace. SUBSTANCE: the offered method includes charging into blast furnace of fuel, iron ore materials and ferrite-calcium flux made from wastes of metallurgical plants and containing total iron above 50%, SiO2 from 1.0-7.0: with CaO/Fe2O3 ratio within 0.15 to 0.55. Use of ferrite-calcium flux in blast furnace burden with high content of nonfluxed pellets provides for high content of iron in blast-furnace burden, the needed basicity of slag, less consumption of iron-ore material and saving of coke.
