FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has shaft furnace for direct reduction of lump iron ore, melting gasificator, reducing gas feeding pipeline connecting melting gasificator with shaft furnace, conveying pipeline adapted for conveying reduced product obtained in shaft furnace and connecting shaft furnace with melting gasificator, and pipeline used for discharging waste blast-furnace gas and extending from shaft furnace. Gasificator is equipped with feeding pipelines for oxygen-containing gases and carbon-bearing carrier gases and cast iron and slag outlets. Feeding pipelines are inserted into melting gasificator. Apparatus is further equipped with at least one fluidized bed reactor for charging finely pulverized ore, reducing gas feeding pipeline leading to reactor, waste gas discharge pipe extending from reactor and device for discharging reduced product obtained in reactor. Pipeline for discharging waste blast-furnace gas from shaft furnace and pipe for discharging waste gas from reactor are running through cleaning unit and further into heating device, from which reducing gas feeding pipeline goes into reactor. Amount of lump ore to be reduced is varied within the range of up to 100%, preferably 30-60%, with finely pulverized ore being the balance. Construction and method allow operation of apparatus to be optimized for charging lump as well as finely pulverized ore.
