FIELD: power engineering. SUBSTANCE: in proposed method of combustion control spatial temperature distribution and concentration profile of at least one reaction product appearing in process of combustion are determined. To provide uniform output of steam at high efficiency and low emission of harmful substances, content of reaction mixture (B, L, H) delivered for combustion is regulated by determining, by means of fuzzy logic or neuro-fuzzy logic, a certain number of preset values ((Swn)) depending on temperature distribution and concentration profile in combustion chamber. Device for realizing this method has at least two optical sensors 2, 3 to receive radiation D from combustion chamber 1 and data processing system 4 connected with sensors and with control device 6 containing fuzzy or neuro-fuzzy control module. EFFECT: reduced emission of harmful substances appearing in process of combustion, provision of uniform output of steam and increased efficiency of steam-generating plant. 10 cl, 2 dwg
