POLICE BULLET Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

Abstract RU 2134401 C1

FIELD: ammunition, applicable in manufacture of police bullets. SUBSTANCE: police bullet comprises an envelope of low-density polyethylene and a slug of soft material, such as thermoplastic rubber modified by gel. The air cavity is formed in the head section between the slug and envelope. At hitting of target with an excess force the air cavity reduces the shock wave velocity, thus reducing the risk of admissible injury of target bones. At an impact force exceeding the permissible one the envelope gets destructed, and the slug gets flattened in the radial direction, dissipating the impact excess energy and forming an increased area of target hitting. EFFECT: reduced risk of inadmissible target piercing and inflicting trauma or injury. 10 cl, 2 dwg
