FIELD: weapons and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a variety of ammunition for use in firearms, having the feature that they are non-lethal and are biodegradable. Biodegradable non-lethal ammunition for firearm have specific weight of 0.6–6 g/cm3. They are made of a cartridge sleeve containing gas-forming means. Thickness of its wall makes from 0.3 to 3 mm. Ammunition has shell base and bullet. Said bullet and sleeve independently contain at least 30 % of biodegradable elastomer of bioplastic. From it at least 90 % by weight is capable of conversion into carbon dioxide, water and biomass in less than six months according to ISO 14855, and up to 70 % of one or more inert and non-toxic mineral fillers. Each of them is selected from group of carbonates or mineral salts.
EFFECT: improving the biological decomposition profile of the weapon, which preserves characteristics and properties required for its use.
